“Baalabelaku” – a name that embodies our aspiration, to bring “Light into Life.” Our journey began with a profound stirring in our hearts as we witnessed countless children across Karnataka living in the shadows, deprived of education and healthcare. The unbearable sight of innocent lives caught in the vicious cycle of poverty, ignorance, and ill-health fueled an undeniable urge to intervene and make a difference. Baalabelaku was born from this compelling desire. We are not just dreamers; we are doers, committed to igniting the flame of self-confidence and guiding these marginalized children towards self-reliance, without uprooting them from their familiar environments

This is a gnawing problem in our society and we at Vishvam Foundation have made it our task to prevent this rampant problem and give these underprivileged children the platform to shine. Under this program, we would provide the children with a safe shelter, nutritious food, and quality education and make it our endeavor to provide a safe environment free from any obstacles that may hamper their opportunity to grow.

In our hearts, we yearn to see every child getting avenues for excellent education and freedom to grow as they like. Being a not-for-profit organization, we are dependent on the limited resources that we have to make this dream a reality for as many underprivileged children as we can. All it requires is our determination and your support!

It all began with a poignant realization, a heartfelt concern. When we witnessed countless innocent children across the villages and urban peripheries of Karnataka, untouched by the light of education and languishing in the darkness of ill-health, our hearts were deeply stirred. Children who should have been in school were forced into labor; young lives succumbed to minor, treatable ailments due to lack of access to healthcare; tender bodies withered away from malnutrition – these sights profoundly troubled us.

In the society we dream of, quality education is seamlessly available for every child, allowing their innate talents to flourish. There, the light of knowledge dispels the darkness of ignorance, shaping children into thoughtful, creative, and responsible citizens.
In that same society, every individual – from infancy to old age – experiences the profound blessing of good health. This extends beyond merely being free from disease; it means being physically, mentally, and socially robust, enabling them to lead fulfilling lives.
Such a society, empowered by education and health, is the ultimate vision of Baalabelaku – a progressive, just, and humane Karnataka, where every life is precious, and every existence has meaning.

The sacred mission of Baalabelaku is to diligently identify children in society deprived of healthcare and education, and to illuminate their lives with the light of knowledge and well-being. We are committed to providing these children with quality educational opportunities, access to good healthcare services, and fostering an environment conducive to their holistic development, thereby shaping them into self-reliant, confident citizens integrated into the mainstream of society.

Our Approach – Respond, Plan, Impact at Baalabelaku, every action we take is guided by deep care, thoughtful planning, and clear objectives. Our approach is child-centric, focusing on community participation and sustainable impact. We strive to achieve our mission through the following key steps:
Identification & Needs Assessment: We actively engage with communities to identify the most vulnerable children and families deprived of education and healthcare. We interact personally with each child and family to understand their specific circumstances, challenges, and needs. Based on a comprehensive assessment, we determine what kind of support will be most effective.
Personalized Intervention Plan: We believe in the principle that “one size does not fit all.” According to the identified needs, we create a tailored, personalized action plan for each child or family. This might be a combination of our “Vidya Belaku” (educational aid), “Arogya Bhagya” (health services), or community awareness programs.
Direct Implementation & Partnership: Wherever possible, our team directly delivers services (e.g., learning centers, health camps). For greater impact, we foster partnerships with local schools, health centers, government departments, and other like-minded organizations.
Focus on Holistic Development: We don’t just focus on academic scores or physical health. The mental, emotional, and social well-being of children is our priority. We encourage their all-round development through play, arts, life skills training, and counselling.
Community Empowerment: We actively involve parents and community members in our programs. By creating awareness about the importance of education, child rights, health, and hygiene, we empower the community itself, ensuring that changes are long-lasting.
